Testimonials

I would unreservedly support the use of LEXIA as a key aspect of improving literacy outcomes for students, based on the results we have seen in Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College
- Andrew Newman, College Principal

The Lexia programme has been found to be of assistance to students and staff. Its main focus at Blue Mountains Grammar School is to develop proficient literacy skills in students identified with particular needs, especially in Years 7 and 8, so that all students are equipped with the skills required to cope with the learning demands of their Stage 5 courses.
- R.T. Barman, Deputy Head-Teaching & Learning, Blue Mountains Grammar School

As well as supporting the remedial needs of specific children (in which clear progress was evident over the term's trial), the programme also has other benefits. It afforded the Resource teachers more time to individualise their instruction and support. The programme could identify the specific areas of need for each student thus promoting greater differentiation. Students were able to work at the level that best suited them. Theis clearly is of benefit to children who, through their classroom lessons, may not have mastered basic elements of language aquisition... The programme benefits staff as well as students. It has the capacity to unify a department, highlight the specific areas of need for individuals and promote a deep-thinking school where the emphasis is on quality teaching and learning.
- John Stewart, Head of Junior School, Central Coast Grammar School

... my enthusiasm for your product continues to grow. I am enthusiastic about it because it is effective and it does the things it claims to do. I am enthusiastic about it because our kids are enthusiastic about using Lexia and because they can see the result of their work with the software.
- Doug Blake, Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College

In the classroom the CrossTrainer component of Lexia was particularly successful with the students that fit into one of two categories:
1. They were intimidated by traditional aspects of language acquisition and required a non-traditional format of learning to assist in their cognitive development.
2. Students that had competent levels of literacy and wanted to be challenged in a unique way.
- Lianty Bryce, Literacy Program Co-ordinator, Girrakool ETU

I have now seen enough of this program to say that I feel it is the only program that offers hope to the most learning disabled students in our school system. Anecdotally, teachers have noticed significant improvements in confidence, fluency and spelling skills.
